Curriculum Design Team Leader · Ongoing

Art education, youth leadership, sustainability, and inclusive learning

GreenToronto has given me the opportunity to combine several things I care about: art, creativity, working with younger children, and contributing to my community.

As part of the curriculum design team, I help develop activities that make workshops easier to follow, more engaging, and meaningful for young participants. My work has included planning art projects, preparing visual instructions, training volunteers, and guiding children through hands-on activities.

Through GreenToronto, I am learning that leadership is not only about giving instructions. It also means understanding what participants need, adapting an activity when something is not working, supporting other volunteers, and helping every child feel capable of creating something they are proud of.

Reflection

These experiences have helped me become more patient, organized, and thoughtful about how different people learn. They have also shown me how art can help young people build confidence, communicate, and feel included.
