I attend the Unionville Youth Council’s monthly meetings, where members plan and discuss community initiatives and events for the year.

Through the council, I’ve volunteered at community festivals, including face-painting for children at events like the council’s Mother’s Day Fun Fair — preparing activity stations, working directly with families, and helping the event run smoothly.

Reflection

Being part of the council has shown me what it takes to keep a community group running consistently — not just at big events, but through the steady, less visible work of monthly planning and preparation.
