Making Creative Workshops Easier to Follow
Curriculum and Visual Instruction Designer
February 2026
For GreenToronto’s Valentine’s Eco-Makerspace Workshop, I created a step-by-step visual presentation to help younger participants complete their craft more independently.
The activity used recycled paper rolls, coloured paper, markers, and reusable materials. I organized the process into five stages and created an animated presentation showing each step visually.
The presentation helped participants understand what to do next without relying only on verbal instructions. It also made the workshop more organized and allowed volunteers to spend more time supporting individual children.
My Contribution
- Divided the craft into five clear steps.
- Created visual instructions and animations.
- Considered how younger children process information.
- Helped make the workshop more structured and accessible.
What I Learned
I learned that curriculum design is not only about deciding what to teach. It is also about presenting information in a way that helps people feel confident enough to learn independently.
