Built Young Hackathon — July 2026

At the Built Young Hackathon, my team had two hours to identify a problem, develop an idea, and turn it into a working prototype.

We focused on digital distraction and the difficulty many students experience when trying to stay engaged with educational content. Our solution was Scroll Study, an app concept that combines short educational videos with calming background visuals to make focused learning feel more engaging.

Working under a strict time limit required us to make decisions quickly, divide responsibilities, communicate clearly, and focus on the most important parts of the idea. We developed the concept, built an AI-supported prototype, prepared our pitch, and presented it to the judges.

Scroll Study received both The Boldest Idea Award and Overall Best Project.

What I Practised

  • Identifying a student problem.
  • Developing and refining a product idea.
  • Working collaboratively under time pressure.
  • Building an early prototype.
  • Communicating the value of a product.
  • Presenting and responding to feedback.

What I Learned

The experience showed me that an idea does not need to begin perfectly. It becomes stronger through building, testing, teamwork, and feedback.

Recognition
